Johnny Quinn is a professional speaker and entrepreneur. He is also a United States Olympian (bobsled) and former professional football player.
My Biography
I am a professional speaker and I travel the globe to inspire audiences by delivering thought-provoking and action-packed messages on leadership, teamwork, motivation, faith and social media. I speaks at a wide variety of events ranging from assemblies, banquets, businesses, campuses, conferences and other functions. The audience and age groups I speak to are just as diverse. I have relevant and impactful messages for corporate patrons, all the way down to first graders.
I am United States Olympian in the sport of bobsled and competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. I have traveled the world with Team USA, where competition has taken me to Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Switzerland. During the Sochi Olympics, I got stuck in my Olympic Village bathroom and had to break down the door. The picture of the busted bathroom door has been retweeted over 27,000 times and seen by an estimated 10 million people around the world! Media and news outlets around the world went crazy over the broken door situation.
I am a former professional football player, spending time with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. Only three people have played in the NFL and competed in the Winter Olympics (Herschel Walker, Jeremy Bloom and Johnny Quinn).
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Pre-Law and left as the school’s All-Time Leading Receiver. I also walked-on to the track team and helped anchor the 4×100 relay to a NCAA Regional mark and the third fastest time in school history. In 2011, I was inducted into the University of North Texas Hall of Fame as a first ballot candidate. In 2013, I was selected as one of two receivers for the UNT All-Century Team.
I grew up in McKinney, Texas, where I was an All-State receiver at McKinney High School. Despite leading the State of Texas in receptions and finishing second in receiving touchdowns at the Class 5A level, I was a non-recruited student-athlete. I did not receive an athletic scholarship until two days before signing day. I am also the founder of The Athlete Watch, an online pro-active leadership course that helps student-athletes and their families search for scholarships.
My Family
I married my lovely wife, Amanda (follow her on Twitter)! We have one dog, a boxer named Scout, who is the friendliest dog in the entire world. We enjoy being a young couple that can pick up and go on a moment’s notice. One day, we do hope to have a family. When we are not traveling, we live in McKinney, a suburb 45 minutes north of Dallas, Texas.
Matthew 7:24-27
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
